REACTION: IAM RoadSmart responds to concerning rise in Northern Ireland road casualties


IAM RoadSmart road safety manager Bruce Steele said: “These figures paint a bleak picture given the increase in pedestrian fatalities and a dramatic increase in serious injuries of all road users. It’s imperative that the road safety community, along with the police and the Northern Ireland Government work closely to reverse this trend. Enforcement and education remain the most powerful tools to shift behaviours on the road and should be reinforced by strong policy action and collaboration to drive down casualties across Northern Ireland.”
